Overview

Vehicle Repair Kits are essential tools for maintaining your transport in Chernarus or Livonia, preventing mechanical failure during transit. Without them, damaged parts will eventually ruin, rendering your vehicle immobile and leaving you stranded in hostile territory.

How It Works

The Repair Kit functions by restoring the health percentage of damaged vehicle components, including engines, hoods, doors, and wheels. To use one, you must have the kit in your inventory, stand directly adjacent to the damaged part, and hold the primary action button (Left Mouse Click/RT) while the cursor is focused on that specific component. You can monitor the progress bar until the repair animation completes and the part’s status improves.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Locate a damaged vehicle part, such as a missing hood or a red-status door.
  2. Ensure you have a Repair Kit (Tire Repair Kit or Epoxy Putty/Metal Wire as applicable) in your hands or proximity.
  3. Aim your crosshair at the specific damaged part of the vehicle.
  4. Press and hold the action button to initiate the repair sequence.
  5. Wait for the progress bar to finish; the part's color status will shift from red or yellow back toward white.
  6. Continue the process until the part is fully repaired or your kit is depleted.

Tips

  • Always keep a Tire Repair Kit in your inventory if you own a vehicle; tires are the most frequent point of failure.
  • Repair parts while they are still in yellow condition rather than waiting for them to turn red or ruined to save resources.
  • Use a Wrench to remove and swap parts if you find better-condition replacements in the field.
  • Park your vehicle in a forest or behind a building before attempting repairs to avoid being sniped by players while stationary.
  • Keep your engine topped off with oil and water; Repair Kits cannot fix a ruined engine block caused by overheating.

Common Mistakes

  • Attempting to repair a "Ruined" part; once an item reaches Ruined status, it generally cannot be fixed and must be replaced.
  • Forgetting to keep a Spark Plug or Battery, which are not fixed by Repair Kits but are required for the vehicle to start.
  • Repairing in high-traffic areas like military bases or major trade hubs where you are easily spotted.
  • Carrying too many different repair items; stick to the specific kits required for your current vehicle type.
