Medical — Epinephrine
A complete guide to Epinephrine in DayZ Medical.
Overview
Epinephrine is a vital emergency consumable used to instantly restore a survivor's stamina bar to full capacity. It is essential for escaping combat, traversing difficult terrain, or maintaining high-intensity movement when your energy levels are exhausted.
How It Works
When consumed, Epinephrine triggers an immediate "stamina recovery" status effect that refills the white stamina bar instantly. It acts as an injectable stimulant that overrides the natural exhaustion penalty, allowing you to sprint or perform heavy actions even when your stamina is depleted. The effect is momentary and does not grant permanent stamina endurance or health regeneration.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Locate an Epinephrine auto-injector in Tier 2-4 medical facilities, ambulances, or dynamic medical event spawns.
- Open your inventory and drag the Epinephrine into your active hotbar.
- Equip the Epinephrine by pressing the corresponding hotbar key.
- Aim the injector at your character and hold the Left Mouse Button (or equivalent console trigger).
- Wait for the short animation to complete until the item is consumed and the stamina bar refills.
Tips
- Hotkey the Epinephrine for split-second access during an active firefight.
- Use Epinephrine immediately after a long sprint to reset your pace before entering a high-risk area.
- Carry only one or two units, as they are lightweight but occupy inventory space that could be used for antibiotics.
- Save Epinephrine for emergencies rather than using it to bypass minor travel delays.
- Remember that Epinephrine does not stop bleeding or treat shock; it only manages stamina.
Common Mistakes
- Using Epinephrine while already at full stamina, which wastes the item's utility.
- Attempting to inject while prone, which may be interrupted by terrain geometry.
- Failing to clear the immediate area before the animation begins, leaving you stationary and vulnerable to fire.
- Confusing Epinephrine with Morphine; Epinephrine manages energy, while Morphine manages pain and structural damage.
