Pristine-Loot Guide (Loot Damage Fix)
Guide to forcing all DayZ loot to spawn pristine — edit damage values in cfgspawnabletypes.xml and override loot damage in globals.xml with the condition scale.
Overview
By default, DayZ spawns loot in varying conditions — worn, damaged, even ruined. This guide shows you how to force all loot to spawn pristine by editing cfgspawnabletypes.xml and globals.xml.
Step 1 — Edit cfgspawnabletypes.xml
Go to cfgspawnabletypes.xml and find all damage lines like:
<damage min="0.0" max="0.32" />
Option 1 — Remove damage
Delete the <damage> lines completely.
Option 2 — Custom damage values
Adjust using the condition scale:
| Condition | Value Range | |---|---| | Pristine | 0.00 – 0.29 | | Worn | 0.30 – 0.59 | | Damaged | 0.60 – 0.79 | | Badly Damaged | 0.80 – 0.99 | | Ruined | 1.00 |
Step 2 — Edit globals.xml
Go to DB > globals.xml and find:
<var name="LootDamageMax" type="1" value="0.82"/>
<var name="LootDamageMin" type="1" value="0.0"/>
Change to:
<var name="LootDamageMax" type="1" value="0.0"/>
<var name="LootDamageMin" type="1" value="0.0"/>
This forces items to spawn pristine.
Step 3 — Apply Changes
You can either:
- Wipe existing loot (fastest)
- Or wait for loot to naturally cycle out
Final Notes
- Removing damage = cleaner, higher-quality loot
- Globals settings override most spawn behavior
- Always restart your server after changes
