Loot Tiers & Military Zones Guide
Understanding loot spawns and finding the best gear
Loot Tier System
Understanding the DayZ loot tier system is key to finding the gear you need and surviving longer.
Tier 0 — Coastal Spawns
- Locations: Spawn towns, coastal areas
- Loot: Basic food, clothing, melee weapons
- Weapons: Rare pistols, .22 rifles
💡 This is where you start — grab essentials and move out fast.
Tier 1 — Inland Towns
- Locations: Inland civilian areas
- Loot: Better clothing, tools, early survival gear
- Weapons: Shotguns, hunting rifles
💡 Your first real upgrade zone — safer and more rewarding.
Tier 2 — Police & Fire Stations
- Locations: Police stations, fire stations
- Loot: Tactical gear, medical supplies
- Weapons: SMGs, pistols, shotguns
💡 Great for gearing up before heading into military zones.
Tier 3 — Military Zones
- Locations: Military bases, camps, checkpoints
- Loot: Military clothing, ammo, magazines
- Weapons: Assault rifles, sniper rifles
⚠️ High reward… but high player danger.
Tier 4 — High Military / Crash Sites
- Locations: Helicopter crashes, NWAF tents
- Loot: NVGs, suppressors, ghillie suits
- Weapons: VSD, FAL, M4, LAR
🔥 Top-tier loot — expect PvP and competition.
Key Military Locations (Chernarus)
- NWAF — Northwest Airfield (highest tier)
- Tisy — Military base (very high tier)
- VMC — Vybor Military Compound
- Pavlovo Military — Good starter military zone
- Balota Airfield — Lower tier, easier access
💀 Pro Tip: Move from coast → inland → military. Rushing high-tier zones too early usually ends in death.
