DayZ Ammunition Guide
Understanding ammo is key to weapon effectiveness. The right caliber can mean the difference between a kill… or getting killed.
Pistol Calibers
- .22 LR → Sporter 22, MK II (Low damage)
- 9x18mm → IJ-70, Skorpion (Low–Medium)
- 9x19mm → CR-75, Glock, MP5-K (Medium)
- .45 ACP → FX-45, UMP-45 (Medium–High)
- .357 Magnum → Deagle, Revolver (High)
💡 Good for early game and close-range fights.
Intermediate Rifle Calibers
- 5.56x45mm → M4-A1, M16-A2, FAMAS (Medium)
- 7.62x39mm → AKM, SKS, CR-527 (High)
- 5.45x39mm → AK-74 (Medium)
💡 Balanced power and control — great for most PvP situations.
Full-Power Rifle Calibers
- 7.62x54mmR → Mosin, VSD, SVD (Very High)
- .308 Winchester → Tundra, FAL (Very High)
- .338 Lapua → Rare high-power rifles (Extreme)
🔥 Designed for long-range and high damage output.
Shotgun Ammo
- 12ga Buckshot → Multiple pellets, best at close range
- 12ga Slug → Single projectile, longer range
- 12ga Rubber Slug → Non-lethal, causes shock
⚠️ Shotguns dominate up close but fall off fast at distance.
Ammo Spawn Locations
- Military Ammo → Bases, barracks, tents
- Hunting Ammo → Hunting stands, cabins, houses
- Police Ammo → Police stations, checkpoints
💀 Pro Tip: Always match your weapon with the right ammo — carrying the wrong caliber makes your gun useless.
