Building Your First Base

Choosing a Location

The first step in building a base is finding the perfect location. Look for:

• Remote areas away from high-traffic zones
• Natural cover like forests or hills
• Access to water sources
• Multiple escape routes

Required Materials

Before you start building, gather these essential items:

1. Logs - You'll need at least 20 logs
2. Nails - Approximately 100 nails minimum
3. Tools - Hammer, saw, pliers, and shovel
4. Wire - For reinforcing structures

Building Process

Step 1: Foundation

Start by placing watchtower kits or fence kits as your foundation. Make sure they're properly aligned.

Step 2: Walls

Attach logs to create walls. Each wall requires 2 logs and can be reinforced with planks.

Step 3: Gates

Install a combination lock gate for secure entry. Remember your code!

Step 4: Reinforcement

Use metal sheets and wire to reinforce walls. This greatly increases raid protection.

Security Tips

Always build multiple layers of defense. A single wall won't stop determined raiders.

• Place barbed wire around the perimeter
• Use bear traps near entry points
• Keep your most valuable items in buried stashes nearby
• Consider building a decoy base

Maintenance

Bases require regular maintenance:

• Check walls for damage every few days
• Refresh timers by interacting with structures
• Restock your repair materials

Remember: No base is 100% secure, but with proper planning and maintenance, you can make it very difficult for raiders!
